Current Researchers

Christopher Diamond is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at UC Berkeley and works on the generalization of the WEC switching conditions and the models expansion to two degrees of freedom.

Carolyn Q. Judge is an Assistant Professor at the United States Naval Academy. She leads the work of numerical modeling of the hydrodynamics of the WEC.

Sri Namachchivaya is a Professor of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. He is involved in modeling and analysing the stochastic dynamics of the WEC.

Oliver M. O'Reilly is a Professor and Vice Chair of graduate studies in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at UC Berkeley. Along with Omer Savas, he is one of the PIs for the novel ocean wave energy converter. His research interests lie in the areas of continuum mechanics and non-linear dynamics.

Omer Savas is a Professor of fluid dynamics in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at UC Berkeley. He is one of the project's PIs and leads the experimental testing of the prototype WEC.

Past Researchers

Bayram Orazov was a Ph.D. student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at UC Berkeley and worked on the WEC project since its inception. He has since graduated.

Xuance Zhou is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at UC Berkeley and worked on the WEC project assisting in its characterization.
